Hermes launches luxury limited edition Indian saris

French luxury goods maker Hermes International has launched a limited edition Indian sari range to "connect" with Indian culture as it target buyers in new markets. Indian women love to hold on to their traditions, so even though they wear Western dresses in their work or on an everyday basis, they prefer to wear an elegant sari on weddings and important events, and that’s why Hermes started making the luxurious saris.  The president of Hermes, Bertrand Michaud, said that releasing the saris was part of their plan to connect with India's culture and the elegance of India's women.  The Hermes saris are targeted to the wealthy Indian women, because the prices vary between $6,120 and $8,158.  Hermes is aiming to win new luxury buyers all over the world in different markets. The saris were made in Paris and with variety of fabrics from cashmere to twill silk.  Luxury brands in India are usually in five star hotels or malls, but Hermes chose to open its Mumbai store in a renovated colonial era street-level building, and Michaud says that Hermes wants to be part of Indian life.  I think that the saris are a very good step for Hermes that will succeed because it is expanding and connecting with different cultures around the world.
